INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REMODELING OF CERTAIN SPACE IN THE HUMAN

SERVICES BUILDING

RESOLUTION #98-98

WHEREAS, the Health Department leases 56,665 square feet of space in the Human Services Building; and

WHEREAS, the needs of the Department change from time to time, a recent example being the implementation of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant "Access to Health Project" and the initiative to develop an assessment of the environment; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Special Services has been working with several groups within the Department and with the Purchasing and Properties Department to develop a plan to accommodate these most recent changes; and

WHEREAS, the recommended plan includes relocating the Staff Lounge, converting the existing Lounge into a conference room and removing walls within the Health Promotion/OYC/Community Assessment area; and

WHEREAS, all of these changes will take place within space currently leased by and occupied by the Health Department; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer recommends that the remodeling project be implemented and has identified funds within the Community Health Assessment budget to pay for the estimated $15,000 cost of the project.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Purchasing and Properties Department to implement the plan to remodel certain Health Department space in the Human Services Building, by use of County employees, contracting with vendors and purchasing furniture and equipment using standard County procedures.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to amend the Health Department's 1998 budget by moving $15,000 from 221-60120-55-818000-1170 to the County's Public Improvement Fund (Fund 245).
