RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT A GRANT AWARD FROM THE MICHIGAN 4C ASSOCIATION



RESOLUTION #98-99



WHEREAS, Ingham County operates the Office for Young Children, an organization which provides child care information and referral services and which promotes the development of additional child care resources and trains child care providers and managers; and



WHEREAS, the Office for Young Children receives its operating revenue from a number of sources, including grants from the State of Michigan and the City of Lansing, appropriations from Ingham County, and fees for services through a number of contracts for services and other fee-for-service mechanisms; and



WHEREAS, the Michigan 4C Association acts as an advocacy agency for child care services throughout Michigan and has been contacted by the Michigan Family Independence Agency to implement a limited number of Enhanced Quality Improvement Program (EQUIP) grants for special projects; and



WHEREAS, the Office for Young Children submitted three proposals for EQUIP grants and the Michigan 4C Association has announced that all three proposals are to be funded and has offered Ingham County a contract to implement the three proposals; and



WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners accept the grant awards, authorize the contract for services with Impression 5 Museum, and authorize an adjustment to the Health Department's budget.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners accepts the Michigan 4C Association's $13,964 award to implement three proposals under the Enhanced Quality Improvement Program initiative described below:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to adjust the Health Department's 1998 budget to implement this resolution.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a service contract with Impression 5 Museum is authorized for the period April 1, 1998 through September 30, 1998 with Ingham County to pay Impression 5 Museum $3,000 to implement the Community EXCHANGE B in proposal.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the contract for services after review by the County Attorney.
