INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONER

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION CONTRACT (ACC) BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND THE COUNTY OF INGHAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING A SECTION 8 PROGRAM

RESOLUTION #99-007

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners (the Local Governing Body), acting by and through the Ingham County Housing Commission (the Local Authority), proposes to enter into an Annual Contributions Contract with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (the Government) that would establish a Section 8 Voucher/Certificate program for disabled residents of Ingham County; and

WHEREAS, the Local Authority has been granted a Section 8 program by the Government for $2,593,495 that will allow 100 or more low income disabled families in Ingham County to receive rental subsidy over the next five (5) years; and

WHEREAS, the Local Authority recommends contracting out the administration of the Section 8 program to the Plymouth Housing Authority for a period of one (1) year with an option for a one (1) year renewal while the Local Authority adds staff and receives Section 8 training.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Local Authority to enter into Annual Contribution Contracts MI168ce and MI168vo for 100 Section 8

Certificates/Vouchers with the Government.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Executive Director of the Local Authority is hereby authorized to sign the appropriate documents for the Section 8 program and the Administration Contract with the Plymouth Housing Commission upon approval as to form by the County Attorney.
