RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT DONATIONS FOR A COMMUNITY BAND SHELL TO BE

BUILT AT LAKE LANSING PARK SOUTH

RESOLUTION #99-116

WHEREAS, a group of citizens raised over $100,000 to construct a creative playground at Lake Lansing Park South in 1997; and

WHEREAS, a group of citizens, comprised of many of the same individuals, has proposed to raise funds to be donated to the Ingham County Parks Department for the purpose of building a community band shell at Lake Lansing Park South; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Parks Board has given considerable consideration to the concept and believes that the band shell will provide a family oriented, cultural, and recreational opportunity that is not only compatible with the other uses of the park but will complement them; and

WHEREAS, the Parks Director\Parks Board is recommending that donations be accepted earmarked for construction of the band shell at Lake Lansing Park South.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners accepts donations earmarked for construction of a band shell at Lake Lansing Park South.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to amend the Parks Department's budget in accordance with this resolution.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners thanks the band shell committee for their hard work and dedication to the improvement of the County Park system.
