RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF APPROXIMATELY .47 ACRES OF LAND TO COOK & SOMERVILLE HOLDINGS, LLC



RESOLUTION #99-133



WHEREAS, Cook & Somerville Holdings, LLC, has requested to purchase approximately .47 acres of County owned property adjacent to the jail. (Legal description as surveyed, "That part of the West � of the Northwest � of Section 5. T2N, R1W, City of Mason, Ingham County, Michigan, being described as: Commencing at the Northwest Corner of Section 5, T2N, R1W; thence S8856'58"E, 661.50 feet along the North Line of said Section 5 to the extended Easterly line of Kerns Road; thence S0023'42"W, 1335.35 feet along the Easterly line of Kerns Road; thence S5434'22"E, 330.02 feet to the point of beginning of the following described parcel; thence S8932'32"W, 367.58 feet; thence S0027'28"W, 124.01 feet; thence N7853'32"W, 264.80 feet; thence N5434'22"W, 130.99 feet to the point of beginning. Containing 0.69 acres more or less and subject to any easements or restrictions of use or records."); and



WHEREAS, appraisals were obtained and Cook & Somerville Holdings has offered to pay the highest appraisal of $8,500.00; and



WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has determined this parcel of property would serve no future benefit to the County.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the County of Ingham accept the proposal for $ 8,500.00 for the aforementioned parcel of land and monies be placed in the General Fund.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the County Controller, County Attorney and County Clerk's Offices are authorized to prepare and sign the necessary documents.
