RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A RED CEDAR WATERSHED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
RESOLUTION #99-014
WHEREAS, the Red Cedar River is an important part of the natural resources and environment of several municipalities, townships and counties; and
WHEREAS, several municipal corporations have expressed their intent to work collaboratively to study the watershed of the Red Cedar River, with the purpose of improving and protecting the quality of the river; and
WHEREAS, the representatives of the municipal corporations has proposed that a memorandum of understanding be adopted by all of the interested parties to set out their common interest and intent; and
WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorize the Health Department to participate in the memorandum of understanding.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a Red Cedar Watershed Memorandum of Understanding in which Ingham County and the Ingham County Health Department will participate in efforts to study the watershed and in the development of plans and proposals to improve and protect the quality of the Red Cedar River.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Environmental Health is appointed as one representative of the Board of Commissioners and the Health Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the Memorandum of Understanding after review by the County Attorney.
