RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT GRANT MONIES FOR A NEW HEAVY

RESCUE VEHICLE



RESOLUTION #99-146



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office is in need to purchase a new Heavy Rescue vehicle through the Emergency Services Section; and



WHEREAS, Sgt. Thomas Foote has applied for numerous grants from various organizations to assist in the payment of the Heavy Rescue vehicle; and



WHEREAS, a new Heavy Rescue vehicle with the appropriate accessories would cost approximately $43,000; and



WHEREAS, due to the interest in Emergency Services Operations, corporations have been known to assist in the procurement of equipment for similar projects.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to apply for and accept grant monies to assist in the purchase of a new Heavy Rescue vehicle.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Sheriff's Office through its Emergency Operations Unit to keep and maintain the old Heavy Rescue vehicle when a new vehicle is purchased, which would provide a back-up vehicle.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and Clerk to sign any necessary documents.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to make any necessary adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office Emergency Operations budget.
