RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT A $1,000 DONATION FROM THE TRI-COUNTY BICYCLE ASSOCIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW BICYCLE FOR PATROL OF DELHI TOWNSHIP



RESOLUTION #99-018



WHEREAS, the Delhi Township Division of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office conducts bicycle patrol of Delhi Township during the summer months; and



WHEREAS, this bicycle patrol allows for additional interaction by the DARE officer with the youth of the community, with emphasis placed on bicycle safety; and



WHEREAS, the Tri-County Bicycle Association has offered funding to the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to replace the aging bicycle currently being utilized.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners accepts the donation of $1,000 for a new bicycle from the Tri-County Bicycle Association on behalf of Ingham County Sheriff's Office and the County of Ingham.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to select the equipment which the Sheriff's Office believes is most appropriate for the bicycle patrol.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to amend the Sheriff's Office 1999 budget in accordance with this resolution.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners thanks the Tri-County Bicycle Association for the thoughtful donation.
