RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE 1999 COUNTY CONTINGENCY FUND TO THE INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE FOR MEDICAL EXPENSES

RESOLUTION #99-019

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office has the statutory responsibility to house, feed, and secure prisoners remanded to the custody of the Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office is also responsible for the medical expenses of prisoners that are in the custody of the Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, a single prisoner sentenced to the Ingham County Jail by the Lansing District Court under local

ordinance violations has resulted in an unbudgeted expense of up to $10,311 to the 1999 Sheriff's Office medical expense line item.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an appropriation of up to $10,311 from the 1999 County Contingency Fund to the Ingham County Sheriff's Office for unexpected

medical expenses.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to make the necessary budgetary transfers to the appropriate line items as authorized by this resolution.
