RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN AMENDMENT TO THE ABSTINENCE PARTNERSHIP GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE MICHIGAN HEALTH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION #99-199

WHEREAS, Ingham County has received Abstinence Partnership grants since State Fiscal Year 1994-95 ; and

WHEREAS, the Michigan Health Council has executed an agreement with the County for up to $108,947 to implement an abstinence program for State Fiscal Year 1998-99; and

WHEREAS, the Michigan Health Council has agreed to amend the agreement to extend the period of the agreement through December 31, 1999; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the grant amendment.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment to the grant agreement with the Michigan Health Council, 2410 Woodlake Drive, Suite 440, Okemos, Michigan 48864-3997, for the purpose of operating an Abstinence Partnership grant, originally authorized by Resolution No. 99-041.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the agreement, originally set as October 1, 1998 through September 30, 1999, shall be amended to October 1, 1998 through December 31, 1999.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the total funding provided by the Michigan Health Council shall remain at $108,947 but that the budget will be adjusted to accommodate the 15 month period.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all other terms and conditions of the grant agreement shall remain unchanged.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the amendment after review by the County Attorney.
