INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION #99-020

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorized the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to accept donations from private individuals to erect a statue at the Ingham County Sheriff's Office, memorializing those officers who were killed in the line of duty in the County of Ingham, through Resolution 98-129; and

WHEREAS, the original budget was estimated at $40,000, and it now appears that the total project will be closer in costs to $80,000; and

WHEREAS, it is still the intent of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to privately raise all the funds to pay for the memorial statue.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes amending the Ingham County Sheriff's Office Memorial Statue Budget for law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty in the County of Ingham.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes Financial Services and Budgeting to make the necessary adjustments for accounting purposes for these funds to be deposited into.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a contract with Brodin Studios Inc. for the commissioning of this statute during 1999, subject to the availability of sufficient private donations being raised at a cost not to exceed $80,000 or the amount of private funds raised and earmarked for this purpose.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Chairperson, the Sheriff, and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract and or purchasing documents that are consistent with this resolution after review by the County Attorney.
