RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE FEE CHARGED FOR IMMIGRATION PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS



RESOLUTION #99-200



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Health Department's Adult Health Services is the only clinic in the Mid-Michigan area certified by the Immigration and Naturalization Service to conduct physical examinations, with the only other locations being Detroit and Grand Rapids; and



WHEREAS, Adult Health Services conducts about 16 INS exams per month, with the examinations including a general physical assessment, HIV test, TB skin test, immunizations, Syphilis and Gonorrhea tests, and if the TB test is positive, a chest x-ray is required; and



WHEREAS, the current fee for this service is $45 and the Health Department has determined that the cost is $70; and



WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners establish the fee for an INS examination at $70.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners establishes the fee for the physical examination required by the Immigration and Naturalization Service for purposes of immigration to be $70, effective September 1, 1999.
