INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE COPS MORE 1998 GRANT AWARD

RESOLUTION #99-228

WHEREAS, Ingham County Sheriff's Office applied for and has been approved to receive a COPS MORE Award from the Office of the United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services; and

WHEREAS, the total amount of the Grant is $127,950.00, with a match requirement of $42,650.00 for a total project cost of $170,600.00; and

WHEREAS, $164,700.00 will be utilized for purchasing new technology for In-car computer systems; and

WHEREAS, $5,900.00 will be used for programming the In-car computer interface to the law enforcement and corrections data base data max server; and

WHEREAS, Ingham County's twenty-five percent local share match of $42,650.00 will come from the Ingham County Contingency fund.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves the entering into contract with the Office of the United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services for a total of $127,950.00, with a match requirement of $42,650.00, for a total project cost of $170,600.00.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents that are consistent with this resolution, and approved as to form by the County Attorney.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners directs the Controller to make the necessary budget adjustments of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office 1999 and year 2000 budgets.
