RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A M.D.O.C. SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A VAN TO BE USED BY THE CCAB ADMINISTERED COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM



RESOLUTION #99-233



WHEREAS, the Michigan Department of Corrections is providing a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $22,675 to Ingham County to be used for the purchase of a van for use by the Community Work Service program that is administered through the Community Corrections Advisory Board; and



WHEREAS, the Community Service Program is currently provided through a subcontract with the Cristo Rey Community Center; and

WHEREAS, consistent with the van currently used by Cristo Rey Community Center for the operation of the Community Service Program, the newly purchased van is to be titled to Cristo Rey Community Center with all license, insurance, and maintenance to be covered by Cristo Rey Community Center; and



WHEREAS, the Community Service Program currently uses equipment and a van in the operation of the program that were purchased with grant funds and, therefore, are required by contract to be returned to the County in the event that Cristo Rey Community Center no longer provides the Community Service program or the equipment and\or van becomes obsolete.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the acceptance of a Michigan Department of Corrections supplemental appropriation in the amount of $22,675 for the purpose of purchasing a van to be used by the Community Work Service program that is administered by the Community Corrections Advisory Board.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the purchase of the van by the Ingham County Purchasing and Properties Department pursuant to County policy.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the van be titled to Cristo Rey Community Center to be used in the operation of the Community Service Program with all license, insurance, and maintenance to be covered by the Cristo Rey Community Center.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the van be listed in the inventory included as part of the subcontract for FY 1999-2000 and subject to a contractual requirement that van ownership be returned to the County in the event that Cristo Rey Community Center no longer provides the Community Service program or the van becomes obsolete.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
