INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH MICHIGAN WORKS

AND FRIEND OF THE COURT

RESOLUTION #99-65

WHEREAS, Michigan Works has offered Ingham County Friend of the Court a contract for personnel costs in the amount of $33,590 from January 1, 1999 through September 30, 1999; and

WHEREAS, the contract will allow for the hiring and 90% reimbursement of a new Enforcement Specialist position classified as a UAW T11, Step 1, a 10% reimbursement of a supervisor position classified as an ICEA P6, Step 4, and the appropriate associated benefits; and

WHEREAS, the 10% matching funds for the new Enforcement Specialist will be obtained from the surplus funds of January 1, 1999 through March 31, 1999, since the position cannot be filled until approximately April, 1999; and

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the issue of supervision of the new position and the additional costs associated will be satisfactorily addressed.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes entering into a contract with Michigan Works for a grant in the amount of up to $33,590 from January 1, 1999 through September 30, 1999.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and County Clerk are hereby authorized to sign all necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon written notification by the Director of the Friend of the Court to the Controller, that the above issues have been positively resolved, the Controller is authorized to make the appropriate budget adjustments.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board authorizes the creation of a grant funded Enforcement Specialist position classified as a UAW T11, Step 1, subject to grant funds.
