RESOLUTION MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS

ADVISORY BOARD



RESOLUTION #99-74



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorized participation of Ingham County with the City of Lansing in a joint City/County Community Corrections Advisory Board (CCAB) through Resolution 90-51; and



WHEREAS, the make-up of the CCAB must represent various local criminal justice agencies and community interests as specified in Public Act 511; and



WHEREAS, the make-up of the CCAB, as specified by Public Act 511, is critical to state and local community corrections goals and objectives as set forth in Public Act 511, the Ingham County/City of Lansing Community Corrections Comprehensive Plan, and the FY 1999-2000 Application for State Community Corrections Act funds; and



WHEREAS, Todd Boyd, Administrator of the 30th Circuit Adult Probation Department serves as the Probation representative on the CCAB; and



WHEREAS, his term has expired and he is interested in being reappointed for another term; and



WHEREAS, the CCAB recommends this reappointment.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby reappoints Todd Boyd, to serve on the Community Corrections Advisory Board as a Probation representative for a term expiring September 17, 2001.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that to comply with State statute and provide the CCAB with a representative who has responsibility for the offender population the CCAB is mandated to deal with, the Ingham County residency requirement for advisory board appointments is waived for this appointment only.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk forward a copy of this resolution to the City of Lansing for consideration of this joint appointment.
