INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A GRANT CONTRACT WITH THE OFFICE OF DRUG CONTROL POLICY FOR THE INGHAM COUNTY/LANSING POLICE DEPARTMENT/ MICHIGAN STATE POLICE AUTOMATED IDENTIFICATION

RESOLUTION #99-87

WHEREAS, a grant was submitted to the Office of Drug Control Policy (ODCP) to access Byrne Grant funds for the purpose of providing automated identification record building between Ingham County, the Lansing Police Department and the Michigan State Police; and

WHEREAS, grant funds have been awarded in the amount of $207,000 to complete the proposed project contingent upon a local match in the amount of $69,000; and

WHEREAS, the IJIGS Committee has approved the use of $34,500 out of the IJIGS budget to be used for Ingham County's share of the local match amount; and

WHEREAS, the Lansing Police Department committed to providing $34,500 for its share of the local match amount.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves entering into a contract with the Office of Drug Control Policy through September 30, 2000 in the amount of $276,000, of which $207,000 are ODCP Byrne Grant Funds, with a total local match amount of $69,000 to be shared by Ingham County in the amount of $34,500 and the Lansing Police Department in the amount of $34,500.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Ingham County's match amount is contingent upon the Lansing Police Department's agreed upon contribution of $34,500.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract documents with the Office of Drug Control Policy and the City of Lansing consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
