INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF JUDICIAL

ASSISTANTS IN THE CIRCUIT COURT - FAMILY DIVISION

RESOLUTION #99-88

WHEREAS, in 1998, the Juvenile Division of the Probate Court was placed in the Family Division of the Circuit Court due to changes in Michigan legislation regarding Court reorganization; and

WHEREAS, the Circuit Court Family Division Judges and County have worked cooperatively to ensure equalization of positions; and

WHEREAS, two of the Family Division Judicial Assistants are classified T-13 and two of the Family Division Judicial Assistants are classified T-12 in the Managerial/Confidential Agreement; and

WHEREAS, the T-12 Family Division Judicial Assistants have been performing the same job duties and functions as the T-13 Family Division Judicial Assistants for the last year and 3 months. To correct this inequity, the Circuit Court would request a reclassification of Antonia Hoffman and Jean Owens to a T-13; and

WHEREAS, Chief Circuit Judge Peter D. Houk, Presiding Family Division Judge R. George Economy, and Chief Probate Judge Donald S. Owens have agreed to allow the 1999 reclassification increases of $1,852 for each employee to be taken out of the existing Circuit and Probate Courts' 1999 budgets; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Antonia Hoffman and Jean Owens of the Family Division of Circuit Court are reclassified to T-13.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the reclassifications are retroactive to 1-1-99.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to make the following transfers in the 1999 Circuit Court - Family Division and Probate Court budgets as follows:
