This newsletter is a publication of the Community Health Assessment unit at the Ingham County Health Department. The newsletter will keep you informed of ways the Ingham County Health Department is actively working toward making all areas in Ingham County "Healthy Communities". Please refer back often to see what new initiatives are being planned and carried out.

Walkable Communities seminar.

Walk to School Day.
This statewide initiative is encouraging children to walk to school.
Parents are encouraged to walk with them. A statewide coordinator has been
hired at the Michigan Fitness Foundation to help schools promote the idea.
There are also alternatives for rural areas where kids cannot walk.
