Clinic services are provided by nurse practitioners and physicians board certified in internal medicine, family practice, and pediatrics.  ICHD as contracted with Michigan State University which allows the delivery of comprehensive pediatric services by residents from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Human Medicine.

The Health Center at Sparrow is the medical home to about 3,000 clients enrolled under PHP Family Care, Ingham Health Plan, McLaren Health Plan, Barry-Eaton Health Plan, Medicare, Medicaid, and MIChild.  Support services available on-site include social work, nutritional counseling, nursing, and public health nursing outreach and case management.  Participation with Title X/Family Planning Services and Title XV/Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program are the components of this health center.

A Mobile Health Unit is operated out of the Sparrow Health Center each Thursday on a rotating basis at three Lansing area homeless shelters: Loaves and Fishes, The Lansing City Rescue Mission, and Volunteers of America.  The Mobile Health Unit is staffed by a nurse practitioner, public health nurse, medical technologist, and program counselor.  The goal of this outreach effort is to make first contact with currently homeless persons, treat their acute problems, offer immunizations, refer them for appropriate health care coverage, and help them become established with primary care.  The Mobile Health Unit is operated through a partnership with Ingham County Health Department, Dean Transportation, and Ingham Regional Medical Center.  In 2003, the Mobile Health Unit had 375 users who made 628 visits.
