Waste Management - Household Hazardous Waste Collection

* Free Collections are ONLY for the residents of Ingham County

2007 Collection Schedule:

When:  Every Thursday 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. from April 5 - September 27

**Last Collection: September 27th**

Where: Ingham County Human Service Facility
  5303 S. Cedar, Lansing (Map)
  Located behind the building.  Look for a white storage unit surrounded by a chain link fence behind the brick garage.

What:  

pesticides (weed killer, insecticides) photographic chemicals
household batteries & cell phones fluorescent lights and ballasts
cleaners & polishes aerosols containing product (throw empties in trash)
flammables (gasoline, lighter fluid, etc.) home repair products (glue, caulk, etc.)
wood preservatives mercury (thermometers, thermostats) Place in ziplock bag
asphalt sealer & roofing tar small propane tanks (1 lb. size)
fuel oil acids & bases (pool chemicals, toiler bowl cleaners)
automotive products (brake, steering, transmission fluid) Do NOT bring waste oil or antifreeze oil paint & paints products (thinner, mineral spirits, stains) No latex paint.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING:  business waste, waste oil, waste antifreeze, explosives, radioactive material, automotive batteries, empty containers, helium tanks, 20 lb. propane tanks, or Latex Paint (See below for disposal instructions). 

Product in 55 gallon drums will NOT be accepted.
