Corrections Alternatives
(Long-term Objective: Provide Appropriate Sanctions)
Community Corrections utilizes safe, low cost, community based correctional programs as an alternative to incarceration in county jails and state prisons to promote an efficient, integrated criminal justice system.
The Community Corrections Advisory Board has 14 members who are appointed by the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the Lansing City Council. The CCAB develops goals, criteria, and guidelines for local community corrections planning and programs.
The Community Corrections Administration implements CCAB policies; monitors and evaluates community corrections programs; provides fiscal management of State grant funds, and monitors the jail population for offenders who are eligible for transfer to community corrections programs.
