LEATHERCRAFT GUIDELINES
APPRENTICE FIRST YEAR
Display article(s), using the following skills: stamping, finishing and assembling techniques; no dyeing permitted for First Year. The article(s) may include First Year techniques beyond those called for.
HANDYMAN SECOND YEAR
Display article(s) with carving, tooling, lacing, finish and assembly techniques; this does not include stamping. Use of dye is permitted but not required.
CRAFTSMAN THIRD YEAR
Display one large article with advanced skills in carving, tooling, lacing, finishing and assembling techniques; large pictures permitted OR three small items with above advanced requirements.
FOUR YEARS OR MOREDisplay one large article with advanced skills in carving, tooling, lacing, finishing and assembling techniques, large pictures and/or sewing; dyeing and painting techniques suggested, but not required.
EDUCATIONAL EXHIBIT
A poster and notebook or poster and display on a topic related to Leather Craft; Suggestions: Where Leather Comes From, Types of Leather, Tanning, Leather Working Tools and What They Do, Uses of Leather Through the Ages, Cost Comparison, What Goes Into A LEATHER CRAFT Project, etc .
