Model Guidelines

Skills to teach and learn:

• Goal setting

• Planning a project

• Record keeping/documentation (Craft Report Form)

• Presentation of finished project

• Techniques associated with modeling

            - construction (fitting, gluing, painting)
            - creativity (kitbashing of multiple kits, scratch building custom parts, etc.)
            - finishing a project

General suggestions to help leaders:

• The "4H Craft Report Form" is a very important part of Fair judging.  The judge will use this to evaluate what the member has learned, so members should be encouraged to put some effort into completing the form with information about the construction of the model (kitbashing, custom building, modifications, etc.) and materials used.

• Because part of the 4-H Models project includes learning fitting, gluing and painting, Legos (and/or similar types) should not be exhibited.
