COLLECTION GUIDELINES
1. All entries must be accompanied by a notebook or a report sheet that gives information on a) the background of the project, b) why the project is special to the member, c) how the collection was gathered, and d) unique information that the member learned during the project.
2. Repeat collections must include at least 5 new items from the previous year's exhibit, clearly identified on a 3x5 card with the exhibit.
3. Exhibits are limited in size to no larger that 2'x3', hanging or flat.
4. Display must be of reasonable weight.
5. There is absolutely no admission to the judging area for setting up. Displays must be complete when submitted, either fastened in position or with display positions marked so that a department worker can arrange them in place.
6. There is a 3-year limit for Fair exhibits in this class.

REPORT SHEET OR NOTEBOOK
These questions may help you get started on thinking and writing about your project.
- Why did you choose this project (souvenirs from a trip, a gift, something you inherited, something that has been in your family a long time, a special interest in a topic, wanting to invest in something that might increase in value, etc.)?
- How did you get started?
- Have some of your items come from far-away places?
- Did you learn something unique or special or unusual or odd about your family background or a relative?
- What is it about this project that you like?
- Do you think you will continue collecting? The same type of things or something else?
- Did you read books or magazines to learn more about your project? Did you write any letters? Did you talk to people?
- How did you organize your items? Why did you choose this way to do it?
- Have you kept a record of how much your project has cost so far?
- Did you keep track of where each piece came from?
- Has your collection/hobby increased in value?
- Have you done something that is especially related to your project, like joining a group of collectors, or going to swap meets, sales, auctions, special stores, etc.?
