September 16, 2008, MSU Corn Research Twilight Tour and Barbecue, Ingham County MSU Extension and the Crop and Soil Science Department of MI State University will host the annual MSUE Corn Research Twilight Tour and Barbecue, Tuesday, September 16, 2008, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Co-sponsoring the tour is Jorgensen Farms of Webberville and the Corn Marketing Program of MI. The complimentary meal will be prepared by Wooden Nickel Catering of Dansville, MI. Participants at the twilight tour will have the opportunity to inspect corn hybrids firsthand in the MSU research trials, as well as participate in an optional corn yield estimate contest. Last year more than $600 in prizes were awarded. Keith Dysinger will discuss the latest corn research occurring at MSU, while the CMPM representative will update growers on corn marketing issues such as ethanol and other corn-based products.
