A hub for activities that promote the health, safety
and stability of families and neighborhoods on Lansing’s Eastside.
Allen Neighborhood Center offers the following programs:
Summer Highlights:*Connections - Parent support groups, educational workshops and linkages to a broad range of resources to foster families, grandparents raising grandkids and single parents. *Youth Service Corps - Eleven to seventeen year olds do chore services, distribute flyers, do simple patch and repair and much more in exchange for rewards. *Wednesday Morning Senior Coffee Hour - A weekly gathering of seniors featuring a speaker on a topic of interest. Conversations are lively and educational. *GED Preparation - Twice weekly classes to prepare students for obtaining GEDs. *Food Movers - Food is distributed free on the fourth Saturday of each month between 11a.m. and noon. *Tuesday Chess Knights - Drop in chess play with informal instruction every Tuesday between 6-8 p.m; open to all ages and skill levels. *Family Resource Center - An ACTS Center offering parents: play groups, support, home visits, develop- mental screening to families with children under 5 yrs. *Health Navigators - A network of residents who link neighbors to health resources and work on health related topics. *Housing Ambassadors - A network of residents who focus on improving housing, increasing home ownership and connection neighbors to housing resources. *Ingham Health Plan Outreach - a team of outreach workers assisting uninsured neighbors to sign up for Ingham Health Plan coverage. *Eastside News - Monthly newsletter distributed door-to-door to 2000 households.
All above programming continues year round, the programs listed below are in partnership with Lansing School District and are pending Administrative approval.
*Parks and Recreation Drop in Program at Allen Street School, 11a.m. - 5 p.m. *21st Century Class Offerings at Allen St. School, 1-5pm *Excel (YWCA) licensed childcare at Bingham School from 7 am - 6pm *21st Century Class offerings at Bingham School from 1 - 5 pm *21st Century Enrichment Courses at Pattengill Middle School form 1 - 5 pm. *Special Youth Service Corps projects involving a youth work space and mural. (11 - 17 year olds)

We have an array of programs for children 4 - 14 years old to enjoy year round.
The following will be offered this summer.
- *Free Breakfast (M-F) 8- 9 am and Lunch (M-F)12-1pm
- *City Kids 4-H learn about science, animals, nature, gardening, nutrition and much more (registration deadline 5/28 for showing projects at the Fair).
- *Girl Scout Block Camp - girls 4 - 14 can come enjoy many opportunities Girl Scouts offer.
- *Health - Registered Nurse will teach health and hygiene
- *PEST - will be teaching kids about roaches, mice, lice and other unwanted house guests and how to avoid them.
- *Nutrition - MSU Extension will teach kids how to eat properly and how to cook food that is good for them.
- *Abstinence - Ingham Co. Abstinence Program will teach kids why and how to avoid sex. (ages 9-14)
- *Drug Prevention - programs will teach kids of all ages how to avoid use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
- *Animals and their Habitats - each Tuesday we will take youth to Potter Park Zoo to learn about the animals.
- *Little Book Worms - a reading program for all ages.
- *Book Mobile - CADL brings the Book Mobile to the Center bi-weekly. Borrow books of your choice.
- *Theater and Arts Project - youth will read a book, develop a play, learn parts, create sets and preform play at end of summer for friends and family.
- *Commuter Access - available to all area residents for resume development, research papers and email pen pals. Youth this summer will have pen pals from Wexford Neighborhood Network Center.
- *Children’s Garden - youth will assist with tilling, planting, weeding and harvesting a community garden.
- *Special Guests - guests will visit the Center each week from places such as: the Fire Department, Police Department and the Zoo

The North Network Center serves families, individuals, young adults and children from the surrounding neighborhoods The mission of the North Network Center is to strengthen families and build positive relationships between neighbors and neighborhood organizations.
The North Network Center provides the following ongoing programs and services:
*After school tutoring - MSU students come to the Center each week day after school and provide tutoring and mentoring for neighborhood children. *Girl Scouts - each week on Tuesdays from 4 - 5 pm *Boy Scouts meet each Tuesday from 4 - 5 pm. *4-H Club meets on Thursdays from 4 - 5 pm. *Food Movers is offered every other week on Wednesdays from 11 - noon. *Senior Luncheon -Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon. *CMH Bodyworks, Tuesdays and Thursdays: 1-2 pm. *Parent Education Classes and Classes for adults on home ownership, credit repair, in-home child care licensing, drug abuse prevention and anti crime. *Teen Life Skills classes are offered on topics such as self esteem, drug prevention, tobacco avoidance, sex abstinence and conflict resolution. *Free Legal Services through the Warren Foundation are available by appointment. *Basic Needs Closet is available with personal needs items and baby products as well as boxed and canned food. *Clothing Bank with free clothing for those in need. *Information and Referral Services for community resources. *Neighborhood association assistance such as free meeting space, copy services, technical assistance and resource development. *Coordination with the Lansing Code Compliance Office is available. *Services from CAPS are available on site. *Connections to the ACTS Program are available offering parent education for parents of children under the age of 5. *Newsletter published regularly for neighborhood, agency and school news. *Computers available daily for community use for resume development, research and homework. *Free Breakfast all summer from 8 - 9 am and Free Lunch from 12 - 1 for area children, M - F *Enrichment Programs for children all summer from 8 - 3 pm. *Lansing Parks and Recreation Drop In Summer Program from 9 - 3 pm for kids 6 - 13. *Special community events throughout the year.
