The County maintains a fund used to account for the collection of a hotel room tax based on a 1975 County Ordinance. These revenues must be used to promote tourism and convention business in Ingham County. Revenues from the Hotel/Motel fund are distributed in the following manner -- 80% to the Lansing Convention Visitors Bureau, 10% to the Fair Board, 5% to Board Approved Agencies, and 5% for County administrative expenses.
