The Housing Commission operates and maintains Carriage Lane Apartments, a low-income housing complex for the handicapped and senior citizens. Funding is provided through apartment rentals and Federal subsidy. The Attorney General has ruled that the County Treasurer is the custodian of the Housing Commission's funds, so that the only monies that pass through Ingham County's books are payroll costs for the Hosing Commission staff.
