Tax Mapping Tax Mapping personnel maintain the county aerial map system, the county property description record files, and the permanent parcel numbering control system for the approximately 93,000 parcels of real property in Ingham County. On
average the mapping department performs 1,000 property splits and
combinations and reviews over 6,000 recorded documents per year. This is
done to maintain the integrity of the permanent parcel numbering system
and to ensure that all taxable lands within Ingham County are assessed.
Tax Mapping personnel work closely with local assessors in assuring that
description records are accurate and current. Copies of aerial photographs can be purchased for $10.00/page. A typical page is 20" wide by 30" high and is scaled at either 1"=400' or 1"=100'. These maps contain such information as property lines, roadways, right of ways, and physical improvements to the land including buildings.
