OYC Mission Statement:  The Ingham County Office for Young Children promotes and improves the availability, affordability, and accessibility of quality eOYC Home Pagearly education and child care for children in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, and Shiawassee counties.

 The Office for Young Children (OYC) is a child care resource and referral agency coordinating services for children, families, and agencies in the mid-Michigan area.   OYC is the Ingham Regional 4C (Community Coordinated Child Care) agency serving Ingham, Eaton, Clinton and Shiawassee Counties.

OYC provides regional services for the mid-Michigan area in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton and Shiawassee Counties. OYC is part of the Ingham County Health Department, a governmental (public non-profit) agency, and is a member of the Michigan Community Coordinated Child Care (4C) network.

The Office for Young Children provides parents with information and child care referrals. OYC recruits and offers training for child care providers. OYC publishes a quarterly newsletter Creative Child Care, the Children and Families Yellow Pages , and a variety of other pamphlets. OYC distributes information on child care financial assistance and other services to help income-eligible families. OYC offers enhanced referral services for employers and other sponsored groups.

OYC is a program of the Ingham County Health Department and is funded by the County of Ingham, the Michigan Early Childhood Investment Corporation, the Michigan 4C Child Care Futures Project, the City of Lansing, UAW-GM Child Care Resource and Referral Service, and other contracts. OYC works closely with the Division of Child Day Care Licensing in Lansing.

The OYC offices are located in the Ingham County Human Services Building, 5303 S. Cedar Street, Lansing, MI in the Health Department on the second floor. The OYC mailing address is:

The Office for Young Children is open from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday and until 6:00 pm on Tuesdays. After hours and on holidays an answering machine is available to record phone messages. OYC is part of the Michigan 4C (Community Coordinated Child Care ) Association and a member of the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA)
