Recreation & Summer Programs for School-Age Children 2007

In addition to licensed child care programs there are summer recreation programs available for school-age children in the area. These programs may offer a variety of activities designed specifically for young children, or they may accept children through high school age. Most recreation programs are open to children from any geographic area. Some only offer programs for a limited number of days in the summer. Contact individual organizations for further information about ages served and specific activities available. This list should not be considered as a recommendation or endorsement, nor a complete listing of all programs in the area. Currently, the State of Michigan has no licensing requirements for summer day camps or recreation programs operating less than 5 hours per day. Some school district programs may also be exempt from Licensing. Parents should only choose a program which they feel meets their needs and standards of quality.

For a listing of the licensed child care programs that offer School-Age Summer programming contact OYC.
