DISTRICT COURT ADMINISTRATOR #08-034 $70,254 - $84,324
Responsibilities: Under general direction of the Chief Judge, has responsibility for all non-judicial functions / activities of the Court. Establishes and implements Court policies and procedures. Produces reports, statistical analysis, long and short-range plans as well as budget preparation and monitoring. Supervises District Court staff including the Probation Department. Will be responsible as the liaison to and for the court in making contacts and presentations to county offices, legislative bodies, court agencies, criminal justice agencies, media, bar association groups and the general public. Will be responsible for employee and labor-relations functions involving recruitment, hiring, training, staff assignments, discipline and grievance procedures. May be asked to take part in collective bargaining negotiations within the court. Responsible for case-flow management and on-going operation and maintenance of data management system. Manages actions related to court appointed attorneys, jurors and records management. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions: With or without accommodations, this employee will be required to perform duties and functions of the job that are primarily administrative in scope. These functions will require the mental capacity to handle technical decision-making, negotiations and policy development and implementation. Typical duties involve regular standing, sitting and frequent travel to other agencies. May be required to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs on a daily basis. Must be capable of utilizing a standard telephone and computer and communicate with the general public.
Degree/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Court Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration or a closely related field. Certified training in court administration highly desired. 5 to 7 years continuous and progressively more responsible related court or legal work experience required. Must have good managerial, public relations and employee relations experience. Experience and knowledge of computerized file automation systems most desirable. Must have reliable transportation.
