DEPUTY CLERK I #07-030 $26,525 - $31,840
Responsibilities: Under general supervision of the Clerical Services Supervisor performs a variety of clerical duties in a busy office. Will serve in various capacities such as: switchboard operator, mail clerk, file clerk and other various capacities. Will be responsible for accurately filing court related documents in appropriate case files using a numerical filing system. Performs other duties such as typing routine correspondence, responding to the public at the counter, and providing standardized information. Will be responsible for opening and delivering U.S. and interdepartmental courier mail. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions: With or without accommodations, this employee must be visually capable of reading file numbers and case names correctly. Must be able to stand, bend and kneel for extended periods of time. Must be able to climb and utilize a ladder in accessing shelves of files. Must be able to lift and move boxes that are 25 pounds in weight. Must possess the manual dexterity to operate typewriter, standard office equipment and computer. Must be capable of operating a standard voice telephone system.
Degree / Experience: High school graduate or equivalent education required. Must have 6 months or more previous and related numerical filing experience. Must have experience with operation of a switchboard or multi-line telephone system. Good public relations skills required. Previous experience maintaining court related documents preferred. Must pass a court security screening. MUST PASS A CLERICAL BATTERY OF TESTS. Please submit a handwritten cover letter, with resume and application.
