Assistant Cook (Part Time)
Work Schedule: Base schedule Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. 20 hours/week.
Location: Central Kitchen in Lansing, Michigan.

General Responsibilities: Assists with food supplies, food preparation, and kitchen clean-up activities.
Essential Job Functions: (Reasonable accommodations will be provided, if necessary, for individuals with disabilities who can perform the essential job functions.)
· Preps fruits, vegetables and other food items for recipes.
· Cooks and bakes as directed.
· Assists in portioning and packaging of meals.
· Serves as backup and performs Cook duties as needed.
· Helps generate route sheets, labels and other paperwork to ensure timely meal delivery.
· Deliver meals to clients and transports food to nutrition sites as needed.
· Cleans kitchen utensils and work areas.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
· Basic math skills sufficient to accommodate units of measure for recipe preparation.
· Ability to achieve and maintain ServSafe Certification as well as follow Health Department Sanitation guidelines.
· Capable of driving locally as needed.

Training on the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Security Rule and the plan’s health information policies and procedures under the direction of the plan privacy & security officer(s) is a prerequisite for this position. Employees who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy & Security Rule will be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.
