The Ingham County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the appointment of Simar Pawar to fill the vacant District 13 County Commissioner seat. Commissioner Pawar was sworn in at the January 24, 2023 meeting of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners.
"I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Board of Commissioners,” said Pawar “although I was appointed to the position and not elected, I will work hard to represent the residents of District 13 and will strive to continue the high quality services provided by the County in the areas of public safety, healthcare, and the parks and trails system.”
“With the appointment of Commissioner Pawar, the residents of the 13th District will have a strong advocate on the Board of Commissioners,” said Ryan Sebolt, Chairperson, Board of Commissioners. “Commissioner Pawar brings a unique perspective to the Board and we look forward to working with her.”
Commissioner Pawar is a democrat from Haslett. Commissioner Pawar will serve on the Board of Commissioners’ Law & Courts Committee and the Human Services Committee.
